Though I just hate to admit it as it reveals
my approximate age (we'll just forget
about that part, OK), my relationship with
Barbie goes all the way back to just about
the beginning!  But the good thing about
being this "young" is that I remember
when this incredible doll came on the
scene.  I have fond memories of playing
with Barbie for hours upon hours.
Though I never had the now sought after
valuable number one Barbie, I came in on
the scene around Barbie #3.  My first doll
is a #4 and she still looks great!  Back
then, we didn't have 100 Barbies like the
kids (and adults) today.  One or two
precious dolls were  treasured.

My friend Beth and I took impeccable
care of all the outfits and accessories.  I
can still remember the smell and feeling
of opening up a brand new outfit - Open
Road, Barbie Q with all those too cute
accessories.  In 1997, I started selling
different collectibles on eBay.  I was torn
about selling the Barbies so I'd put on a
piece of Barbie furniture or an extra shoe
online.  As I was always looking at things
that were for sale,  I decided to check out
all the Barbie items just thinking I'd find a
few - was I surprised.  I saw how many
people were into these dolls - all the Baby
Boomer little girls who had the same
wonderful memories as I did!  And, they
all wanted them back!

After seeing this, and having only sold a
few items, I decided to keep everything
else.  Unfortunately I sold my  Deluxe
Reading Kitchen!  I remember when I
saw that in the general store as a child -
it was $11.00.  I put it on my birthday list.
I kept checking around the house to see
ifI would be getting it, and finally found it
under my mother's bed!!  She was so
upset I had ruined her surprise.  I'm
sorry I sold that,but grateful I didn't go
much further.  Now, like you, I'm
constantly treasure hunting for more and
more of the vintage items I didn't have,
replacing the few that were worn out.
I'm also totally addicted to the Silkstones!

So, that's my Barbie story.  On the
"Barbie and Friends" page, you will find
some items I've been fortunate to come
across.  Being duplicates from different
lots, I do offer them for sale, and what
fun!  Maybe you'll see something you've
been looking for.  Please feel free to
email and ask questions or tell me your
story too.  I'd love to hear it.  And please
check back.   It may be a while before the
pages fill up as I've been trying to get this
website together forever. Check my EBay
store and my Ruby Lane store for Barbie
items also as well as other vintage
collectibles.  I'll be listing items for sale
from this site soon, hopefully! For now,
please visit my shops which you can
access from the "Shop SingPraise" link
above. Thanks for stopping by and
remember,  "all good things" come from
the Lord" -
even Barbie Dolls!
