BROOCHES and PINS
Bakelite Scimitar Brooch
This is one of those vintage Bakelite
brooches that a collector can't live
without! Creamy butterscotch makes
for an awesome blade topped off by a
stunning translucent handle with gold
tone accents and chain. Perfect
condition with one manufacturing
indent on edge of blade. Not
noticeable, but wanted to mention it.
Enjoy!!

Bakelite Rooster Brooch
The brooch is 3" wide and 2" high.
Both birds have brass stud eyes. It is
in excellent condition with 1/4" rough
edge on the back. Most likely
happened during creation. There is a
two part pin clasp on the back.
This brooch can be found on Page
117 in Karima Parry's book "Bakelite
Pins".

Banjo Bakelite Pin - Music Lovers Choice!
Pretty little  Bakelite banjo pin. in a
rusty cranberry  slightly translucent
color. When held up to the light,  you
can see dark and light patches of
color, typical of "end of the day"
Bakelite when the leftover colors
were mixed together.

The banjo is 4 inches high with the
widest part of the banjo being 1".
Back side clasp appears vintage, but
was reglued  in a somewhat sloppy
fashion. Of course, being on the
back, it does not detract from the
beauty of this collectible.

Depression Era Early Plastic Dangling Faux Pearl Brooch - Head Turner!
This beautiful early plastic brooch is
from the years of the Great
Depression. With money being hard
to come by for many and metals
being in short supply due to WWII,
much of costume jewelry, including
Bakelite, were made from
inexpensive materials. This special
brooch  features a very pretty white
lucite flower with a celluloid chain,
five large (about 1/2" diameter)
dangling faux pearls topped by brass
fittings. It is about 4 1/4" in length,
with a width of 2 1/4". It is in mint
vintage condition - just spectacular. It
will definitely make heads turn!!

Bakelite Majorette Pin - Patriotic!
Book Piece
Schiffer Book "Bakelite
Jewelry..Good, Better, Best"
on Page 47
Bakelite pin  of a  majorette hat
hanging from a baton.  The detailed
brass baton is just under 2 inches
long. Hanging from it, you see the
bright Bakelite majorette hat with a
brass visor and actual canvas chin
strap. On top is a blue plume. Plume
may be plastic as there is a tiny dot
size paint chip on the back, toward
the bottom. The canvas chin strap
looks slightly warn, but strong and
intact. The brass part could use a
good polish. The red Bakelite is
about 5/8" in diameter and 1/2" high.
